- Amplify ELAR Texas is a high-interest, TEKS-aligned integrated language arts and reading curriculum designed specifically for grades 6–8. With Amplify ELAR, students learn to tackle any complex text by making observations, grappling with interesting ideas, and finding relevance for themselves. Students are engaged through dynamic texts, lively classroom discussions, and meaningful digital experiences.
- Logging in to Amplify – A step-by-step guide for first-time users and students.
- To simplify the process for younger learners, we have QR Code logins. Students can connect to Amplify quickly and securely without typing an email or password.
- Watch this video for an ELAR lesson walkthrough and tips on how to engage students within the curriculum.
- Important to note: If a student(s) doesn’t appear on your class roster, they are most likely missing from the roster data provided by your district during the enrollment process. Please contact your district administrator to request that the student(s) be added.

Educator Resources
How can I assign?
- Assigning in Amplify makes it easy to distribute middle school activities to your students with optional due dates. Teachers will be able to quickly assign multiple activities simultaneously using the blue Assign button on the Lesson Brief. Teachers can also use the Assign button available in the header of each individual activity.
- The Assign in Microsoft Teams button offers middle school teachers the flexibility to integrate Amplify content with their Teams channels. This feature is available for all student-facing activities and simplifies navigation by providing a direct link to the Amplify platform within Teams.
What are Classwork Notifications?
Submission notifications for grades 6–8 is a feature that alerts you in Classwork each time a student clicks Hand In or Update on an activity. With quick links to new submissions, teachers will be able to easily access student work from multiple classes and provide timely feedback. Check your notifications by selecting the bell in the top right corner of your Classwork banner.
What is the Automatic Writing Evaluation (AWE) Improvements feature?
The Conventions Details feature in Classwork will automatically identify up to ten common grammatical errors in student writing activities. Once you turn the Details toggle on, any applicable errors will be listed below the Conventions rubric in the scoring panel.
Educator Tips
Start Class
We realize that getting your students into a lesson quickly is important. But remember to use the Start Class function (located in the student status icon in the right of your lesson navigation bar) and it will automatically take students to the lesson for the day, alleviating the need for students to navigate through the curriculum to a specific lesson.
Vocabulary
The Vocab App automatically adapts to student needs and provides regular instruction in the key words students should focus from the text they’re currently reading. Teachers can use the “Words to Use” section of the lesson brief to know the most important words in each subunit. We recommend you make a word wall and include these words in every day usage. Teachers can access the full list of Vocab App words from within Reporting section the Vocab App under the “Words” Tab. Quickly find words using the filters by units, lessons, or simply type within the search box.
Flex Days
Flex Days are a crucial part of the Amplify curriculum. Use Flex Days to design small group instruction to respond to data and focus on individual student needs. Flex Days are the time to focus on grammar, fluency, revision, reading skills, and more. If necessary, teachers can even at times take two days on Flex Day lessons.
Be prepared to write!
Students have multiple writing opportunities throughout the week. They write for 10–15 minutes at a time, focusing on one claim in response to a prompt, and using evidence from the text in support of their claim. Automated Writing Evaluation, feedback, and Spotlight give teachers the tools they need to support their students’ writing, and revision assignments are built into flex day activities.
Pacing and Solos
Solo activities do not have to be completed daily. In fact, if time is an issue we recommend not regularly taking class time for Solos. The Reading and Writing Assignments document in the Unit Overview highlights with an asterisk the most important Solos that should not be skipped.
